Structure of the Challenge

Music Experience 

Age Group 1: 5+ Years (60 Minutes)

Objective:

Introduce younger kids to different instruments in an engaging and interactive way that encourages exploration and fun.

Structure Breakdown:

  1. Welcome and Musical Warm-Up (5 Minutes)

Activity:

A facilitator plays a short, lively tune using all the instruments to showcase their sounds.

Conduct a quick “Guess the Instrument” game where kids identify the instrument based on its sound.

Grab the kids’ attention and excite them about the session.

 

  1. Station Rotations: Hands-On Instrument Exploration (45 Minutes)

Divide kids into four small groups

Set up four stations, each focused on one instrument:

 

  1. Group Activity: Rhythmic Collaboration (10 Minutes)

Activity:

Bring all groups together.

Assign each group a simple role:

Guitar Group: Strum a single chord.

Keyboard Group: Play a repeating melody.

Play together as a “band” and experience collective music-making.

Goal:

Teach teamwork and how instruments combine to make music.

 

  1. Cool-Down and Wrap-Up (5 Minutes)

Activity:

Gather the kids in a circle and ask them to share their favorite instrument or moment.

End with a big group cheer and thank them for their enthusiasm.
